42 Cambridge Road – 1978
Car Radios Dorchester started its live as Dorchester Car Radios in Cambridge Road in Dorchester. This is when 8 tracks where a new technology and Kenwood where called Trio and to have a radio in a car was of top priority.
46 Cambridge Road, Dorchester was the address and Dorchester 63135 was the number which we still have, although 01305 260000 became available to us in the 1990s which is our number today.

Back before social media and the internet, it was a very different story. Dorchester was the catchment area with a hive of vehicle dealers; it wasn’t long before nearly every car sold in Dorchester had a Radio, two speakers and an aerial install by us. Here is our logo from back in the day.
31c Great Western Rd – 1988
In 1986 the decision was made to move into bigger premises at 31c Great Western Road due to the introduction of advancing technologies in vehicles. As the picture states, analogue car phones, alarm systems and larger audio systems with sub woofers, graphic equalisers, amplifiers and CD changers all became a must have to upgrade your vehicle.
Over the years there have been many a ‘Premier Dealer’ scheme that we have been apart of, like becoming a Pioneers ‘Blue Chip’ dealer.
Our red Pioneer sign was put up in the early 2000s when Pioneer changed their logo. Here is where we operate today, however, our service list has grown quite substantially since the early days.
Dorchester Show

The Vehicles
There have been many demo vehicles over the years, BMW 3 and 5 Series, Kenwood Peugeot 205 GTi, 2 Pioneer Isuzu Troopers, Pioneer Mini and a Pioneer Citroen C2. There have been many vehicles over the years, unfortunately some photographs have been lost over time.
